Dr. Manisha Mishra

With a purpose to serve humanity Dr. Manisha entered the field of medicine in the year 2008 with an all India rank of 576 in her very first attempt. She pursued her MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Medical college, Indore (Madhya Pradesh) which is one of the oldest medical colleges of our country, also considered one of the most prestigious in Central India. She was always inclined towards academics and has four distinctions (gold medal in biochemistry, pharmacology, ophthalmology and pediatrics). After completing her MBBS she cleared her NEET PG entrance with an all India rank of 419 in her first attempt. Being always intrigued by Ophthalmology she opted for this subject from one of the most prestigious colleges of India, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC).

She got an opportunity to attend various conferences at regional and national levels. She also won a best poster award in DOS 2016 for presenting her thesis. After completing her MS in the year 2017 she joined back as a senior resident in Guru Nanak Eye Centre, MAMC. Here she trained under one of the pioneers in the field of strabismus, at the same time getting hands on training in cataract surgery, pediatric ophthalmology, lid surgery and dacryocystorhinostomy surgery.

She has done countless surgeries which include cataract (phacoemulsification, small incision cataract surgery), pediatric cataract, various types of squint, ptosis, DCRs, pterygium, entropion, SFIOLS, corneoscleral laceration repairs, enucleations, dermoid cyst excisions as well as laser procedures such as iridotomies, capsulotomies, pan retinal photocoagulations and laser under indirect ophthalmoscopy. She also has a hands on training in performing investigations such as ultrasound B scan, OCT, visual fields, VEPS etc. During her senior residency years, she also cleared her DNB examination as well as FICO with merit.
